Bucks Preview: Game 5 vs Pacers

After picking up a big road win in New Orleans on Tuesday night, the Bucks head back home to test themselves against the Indiana Pacers.

Indiana Pacers (2-2)

  • 45-37 last season, lost in first round of playoffs
  • 91-96 against Bucks all-time
  • Undefeated when brawling opposing team’s fans who deserve it

Offensive Key

The Bucks can win this game if they get to the free throw line and convert once they’re there. In two losses this season, they’ve gotten to the line just 34 times, making 26 of those shots. In two wins, they’ve gotten to the free throw line 45 times and converted 39 of those shots. By drawing fouls and making their opponents pay at the charity stripe once they’re there, the Bucks can make it much easier on themselves. Getting this done will probably fall on Jabari Parker (16/19 at the line so far this season), Giannis Antetokounmpo (14/17) and Greg Monroe (14/15), three guys that you can feel good counting on.

Defensive Key

While most people probably went into this season thinking the Pacers were a better team than the Bucks, Indiana has already lost to the Nets, a team the Bucks have beaten in this young season. In that game against Brooklyn, Paul George scored 20 points, but only shot 8/22 from the field on his way to those 20 points. In the other three games this season, Paul George has shot 55% from the field while the Pacers have gone 2-1. If the Bucks can force Paul George to take a lot of shots and miss a lot of shots, they stand a good chance of snatching a win tonight.

Tune in at 7:00 PM CT as the Bucks look to go 3-2 in their first 5 games of the season!
