Bucks Preview: Game 10 at Cavaliers

The Bucks look to end their first 10 games on a positive note with a visit to Cleveland and the also-struggling Cavs.

Cleveland Cavaliers (4-6)

  • 51-31 last season, lost in NBA finals
  • 91-117 all-time against Bucks
  • Lead the league in both drama and intrigue

Offensive Key

While the Cavs have notably played poorly to start the season, they did handily beat the Bucks in Milwaukee’s second game of the season. One reason for this was that while Giannis Antetokounmpo (34) and Malcolm Brogdon (16) combined for 50 points, the rest of the team only combined for 47. As has been the story all season, the Bucks will need to give Giannis some help on the offensive side of things if they want to start the season 5-5. Specifically, it wouldn’t hurt if Brogdon, Snell, and Middleton could all hit double figures.

Defensive Key

The main reason the Bucks lost the first time around against the Cavs was not LeBron James, but rather Kyle Korver. Korver only scored 17 points, but he was 5-6 from distance, with most of them directly helping Cleveland build or defend their lead. If the Bucks can’t guard Korver along the arc, they’ll be forced to play catch up, and they’ll need either Middleton, Snell, or Teletovic to hit a few threes of their own. Rather than counting on those guys to have a great game from three-point land, it’s easier to just make sure Kyle Korver doesn’t.
