Bucks Preview: Game 3 vs Pistons

The Bucks were able to grab their first win of the season last night against the Nets thanks to a thrilling John Henson last-second putback. They go for win number two tonight in the second night of a back-to-back, this time in Detroit.

Detroit Pistons (1-1)

  • 44-38 last season, lost in first round of playoffs
  • 123-127 against Bucks all-time
  • Most working-class name in the league

Offensive Key

Can Giannis Antetokounmpo continue his fantastic start to the season so far with another big offensive performance? He’s averaging 26 points in this very young season, and I can’t think of any reason he can’t continue performing at this level all season. If he has another big game where he just keeps piling on the points (particularly through extremely emphatic dunks), the Bucks could end the night over .500. In case it isn’t already clear, this is Giannis’s team.

Defensive Key

The Bucks should look to limit Detroit’s assist totals tonight if they want to secure win number two. In the Pistons’ first game of the season (a loss to the Raptors), they only racked up 17 assists all game. In their second game, a blowout win against the Magic, they upped that number to 27 while turning in an almost-identical number of turnovers. If the Bucks can play some disruptive defense and not let the Pistons get into a rhythm and start feeding each other for buckets, this game should end up well for Milwaukee.

Tune in at 5:00 PM CT for the early Sunday night game as the Bucks try to get over .500 and start an early winning streak!
